Media reports from Washington tell us that US commanders in Afghanistan are asking for freedom to act inside Pakistan. However, developments in Pakistan indicate that they will not get permission to do bombardments, aerial missile attacks.
Islamabad is trying to initiate a dialogue with the militants. They are of the opinion that dialogue and development bring peace in the troubled tribal region. They have released a pro-Taliban mullah, Sufi Muhammad as a goodwill gesture to woo the militants.
