The sophisticated assaults underscored the weakness of security forces

The attack of suspected Taliban militants on a Federal Investigation Agency office and two police training units in the eastern city of Lahore today showed the weakness of security forces. The coordinated attacks indicate that militants are highly organized. It gives the impression that they can paralyze nation’s most vibrant cities any time.
A lot of people are praising the security agencies for the successful operations of the security forces. We should pay attention to the statement of Interior Minister Rehman Malik.
He told reporters:
Interior Minister’s statement is frightening. It means terrorists are extended their operation to Punjab. It means Pakistan’s woes will increase in the coming days. The way they started their recent attacks indicate that they have plans in their mind to destabilize Pakistan. Security forces should now wake from deep slumber and do their do duties diligently.
