Commentary: Pakistanis Deal Severe Defeat to Musharraf in Election

CARLOTTA GALL and JANE PERLEZ of New York Times are of the opinion that Pakistani voters has defeated President Musharraf in the parliamentary elections because of his policies.
These two experts of Pakistan affairs must know that the elections results have been engineered to send a message to the west that they are trying to implement democracy in Pakistan so they should not stop aid.
We all know that Pakistan Army installs government which does not interfere in their affairs. . The new PPP government will enable the west and Americans to soften their stance towards Pakistan.

I dont agree that the people of Pakistan have rejected the policies of the
government. As a matter of fact the political parties supporting Pervez
Musharraf have got the largest number of popular votes. It is another
matter that their votes did not convert into more seats.
