The Turkish government has made a request to the parliamentary to accord approval for military action against Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq.
Ankara says it want to destroy the bases of PKK fighters, who launch attacks inside Turkey. According to reports American diplomats arrived in Ankara to persuade the Turkey to refrain from military action. But it looks Turks are not in a mood to pay heed to American advice. They are very angry at Americans after the passage of Armenian bill.
Media is criticizing Turkey for shelling the Kurdish areas. They are little bit justified. Turks should not target civilians for the crimes of PKK. I know they suffered heavy causalities since September. According to reports, 30 Turkish have died from attacks.
In my opinion , PPK high commands should start negotiations with the Turks and try to find out a peace solution to the problem.

I am not for or against the Turkish government, at this point. But based on
recent experiences of other states, negos without military pressure
imparts a message that the government is weak.
