Obama and Afghanistan Problem

Obama thinks the United States should pay attention to Afghan problem because it threatens US national security. He is of the opinion that more US should be sent to Afghanistan to defeat the Taliban in Afghanistan.
The senator was Afghanistan to take an assessment of the Afghan situation so he can give impression to American public that he is not neophyte on international affairs.
The Senator also threatened to hit at al-Qaida in neighboring Pakistan unilaterally.
Does Senator realized what will happen if he attacks Pakistani territories?
The supply line of the US and NATO forces will be cut off and then Taliban will easily defeat coalition forces in Afghanistan.
