Commentary:Barak secretly meets Pakistan president

Israel's Channel 2 reported Sunday that President Musharraf and Defense Minister Ehud Barak held secret meeting in Paris.
The two leaders discussed about Iranian nuclear issue and the prevailing situation in the Middle East.
The meeting lasted about an hour. Mr. Ehud expressed concerned about the rising militancy in Pakistan and told Israel's concern about Pakistan's nuclear assets. President Musharraf assured him that Pakistan's nuclear assets are in safe hands.
There is not doubt Pakistan has has close political and economic ties with Iran. However, Iran is constantly interfering in Pakistan affairs under the pretext of helping its co-religionist. It was observed that Iran is bent on destabilizing Pakistan.
Pakistan is Sunni dominated country and it should work with Israel to contain the Iranian influence in the region.
