Commentary: Scientist says Pakistan knew of North Korea nuke deal
Pakistani Nuclear Scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan told the Associated Press in a telephonic interview that centrifuges to North Korea were sent under the supervision of Pakistan Army. He said that Musharraf might have allowed shipping these centrifuges to North Korea . He said that sensitive shipments could not be sent without the knowledge of the Pakistan Army.
Pakistan Army has not commented on his statements yet. Pakistan's Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar said such statements will create problems for him and Pakistan.
In my opinion, Dr Khan has made very irresponsible statements. It will embarrass both the army and Musharraf. His statements will put big powers after Pakistani nuclear assets.
Khan must know that he stole nuclear blue prints from Holland. Western powers will prosecute him for his activities. He should behave like a good Pakistani. He should not take undue advantage of popularity.
