Commentary: Judges ditched by Zardari too!

It looks Pakistan's new coalition government is in trouble. Statements attributed to PPP co-chairman have shocked Pakistanis. Media reports say that Mr. Zardari is not interested in restoring the judges. He said that the deposed judges were responsible for his incarceration. He lambasted that these judges never listened to his pleas.

Sensing that their co-chairman's statements might cause a rift in the coalition. The party spokesman said that judges' issue would be decided after a debate in the parliament. He said that they plan to bring a judicial reform package. But their coalition partner made it clear that they would not accept any formula that excludes chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

There is a clear indication PML(N)'s hard stance will break the coalition. That's why Mr. Zardari has extended his hands to PPP's arch rival MQM despite reservations and anger showed by many Sindhi party workers.

I must tell my readers that Pakistan People Party got government in Islamabad after an agreement between Musharraf, Benazir and the US Administration. Experts say that If PPP tried to back out of their commitments to Americans. They would be kicked out of Islamabad.
